The hated part of his bath is the drying part.
The title of the post was taken from a song by the Beatles and little Troy was drying like a dog. The original song lyrics goes, It's been a hard day's night and I've been working like a dog.
So Troy hates the drying part as he cannot go and roll in the sand after his bath. Instead he is dried with clean towels.
Come and look.
According to his age, Troy is also a #silver-barker.
Oh yes, it's always a fight as he knows that we know that he wants to run out the gate to go and roll in the dirt. Countless games like this have been going on for the past 17 years and he is not really angry, as the teeth are only for show.
Nevertheless it is always a process and a game that Marian enjoys.
Peace be on earth as his charade is over and it's time to go and rest inside.
Resting in the comfort of his soft blanky he was soon gone into dreamland.
Yep, he is an old man now in his 17th year, but he has a long memory and he will never allow me to bath him. In his mind me and water don't make a good picture, as when he was a pup he came running to me. But the thing is that I was in my canoe on the river and in his haste to get to me he fell into the river. I dived out of the canoe to get him and luckily I got hold of him under the water. So to this day he remembers that and nothing that I can do will change his mind.
I would love for him to shower with me, but no go, as soon as I get into the shower he runs into his house. If his house had a door, he would slam it behind him :)
He is a very peculiar little guy and every night he comes into our bedroom for his good night pat and a song. I dare not sing the same song as then he starts to bark. So I change the tune every night.
Just to think as a tiny pup he used to sleep in my shoe at night.
I will see if I can find some pictures of him as a pup for a post.
Such is the life of our little Troy.
And That's All Friends.
