Oh yes, deep in the 30Cs and the place to be is in the shade at a river.
We sat on a bench under a big oak tree and I played with the zoom.
The blazing sun can tap one's energy and even the doves were sweating, so it is sane to sit in the shade at a cool mountain stream. During our winter raining season this stream becomes a wide raging river. It used to flood the town, but a storm draining system was installed and the floods are no more.
So come and have a look at some lovely shots taken on my camera's zoom.
A proud parent displayed her child's artworks on the trunk of the tree that we were sitting under.
Can only be a bird, or a squirrel that planted this beauty.
A lovely single plant amongst the trees.
Someone had time to balance some rocks.
This Dragonfly was sitting on a dry twig of a branch that was floating in the water.
See that big tree at the left on the river bank?
I want to show you its trunk.
Smooth as silk and busy stripping its bark in preparation for the coming winter season.
Yes, whenever one sits still nature comes alive to show it's treasures.
Animals, birds and even insects emerge and there is abundant life everywhere. A place of peace and to sit in the shade makes the heat bearable. Now we are back in our oven that they call a house and I am typing this in front of our small fan with Troy sleeping at my feet as usual.
Today is a public holiday here called "Human Rights Day" and I think that very few countries in the world can take pride in the way that they abide by and respect human rights. But this is a subject for another time.
For now, I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.
Finally, we wish everyone a day of love and peace.
And That's All Friends.
