A lovely surprise disturbed my plans and I had to avoid being mobbed.
Oh, what rudeness! I was here first and then this lot barged in to disturb my peace :)
I sat on the bank near the water trying to get the river life on camera while listening to the flowing water's song as it flowed over the rocks.
Then suddenly this lot appeared and gradually the place started to get crowded. So, with due respect I didn't want to upset anyone, especially those with short tempers, and bravely I retreated :)
This was the only river life shot that I got.
It all started and startled me like this below.
I loved that cute little calf.
Mom followed and where there are 2, or 3, there's bound to be many more.
Now who would like to be lifted by that set of horns?
A couple of Egret birds were investigating which of the cattle they were to clean next.
Slowly the numbers of the crowd grew, as they leisurely made their way to the river.
Finally it was time for me to disappear :)
At least I got a bonus on my way out, as the weatherman in the sky showed me that bad weather was on its way. The locals know that whenever a sun halo appears, then rain will arrive soon.
They are Nguni cattle and you can read more about them here;
*The Nguni is a cattle breed indigenous to Southern Africa. A hybrid of different Indian and later European cattle breeds, they were introduced by pastoralist tribes ancestral to modern Nguni people to Southern Africa during their migration from the North of the continent. *

So, I didn't mind them disturbing my peace and instead I was happy to get them on camera to show you.
Life is full of pleasant surprises that can balance out the unpleasant ones and I have learned to appreciate every one of these incidences, as they are like gold to me. A free gift for my camera and I am a happy fella.
I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.
And That's All Friends.
