Who has built one room for us.
A friend invited for his house entering ceremony today and being a working day, everyone was little hesitant, but then I motivated everyone to go for couple of hours and join him in the celebration. He was delighted to see us and especially the ladies - they wanted to be also part of this unplanned meet. Our friend is the Secretary of our PG group and he is made accountable to plan every year's meet, which has not been possible since last few years, because many are staying outside states and have not been able to come because of their kid's education. So this served as a special meet between a small group of us.
A relationship built 21 years back and continuing till now has a special meaning - no formal invitation needed - be it whatever big ceremony, just a call or whatsapp message suffices - and the best part is others start calling each other and plan everything else to be there.
By the time we reached the rituals were done and we visited all the rooms before going for the lunch.
And what a sweet surprise for us - he not only built a nice house, but built this special room for us in the top floor - we were always in search of a place for our week-end parties, and the top floor gives the perfect privacy. Our friend is not very rich, and it's his life time savings invested in this house and even has taken a big loan that he plans to clear in the next decade. But he has a big heart for us - this room key will be in leverage of all friends, who need it any time. We have asked him to fit an AC and he has agreed to put one and also keep all utensils that will be needed for cooking.
And in absence of our meet, the ladies loved each other's company after a long time, with a promise to meet soon.
Last two years have been very restrictive on all of us because of our kids going through their most important milestone of career. From here, they will be more responsible and will have to decide their professional career path, and that frees up most of us this year. I am sure, we will have frequent get together and travels starting this year - after all, the last phase of life needs to have some fun. We are a generation, who has always compromised, so once the kids settle in their career path, we should plan to de-congest ourselves and travel is the best medicine.
Do you go to your friends house without any planning ? That's our generation - always invited with pleasure.
