Since a handful of Hive readers wonder what is going on in my life, this will be a short update on the past three weeks.
I've spent some time babysitting the grandchildren, going to physical therapy for my arthritic knees, having tea with friends, and taking my husband to appointments.
My youngest is scheduled to have her gallbladder removed this Friday, so I've been spending extra time with her, trying to help out with laundry and clutter besides babysitting her little girl. My daughter has been in a great deal of pain for several months, and had to wait another month for surgery after somebody finally figured out what's wrong. She has been throwing up and having the diarrhea every day, and can't keep much of anything down except water. Somehow she has continued to go to work almost every day; I don't know how she does it. Today her boss had the nerve to complain about her not doing a good enough job. My daughter got so peeved, she told her boss she would be happy to stay home tomorrow if she could find someone to cover her shift. Of course, the boss couldn't find anybody. My daughter has a strong work ethic, and does the work of the slackers besides her own, so she is always exhausted. It should be eye-opening for her boss when my daughter is out for a week following her surgery.
I have a virus just now, the main feature of which is fatigue, plus swollen lymph glands. I hope it goes away soon, because my daughter needs my help.
I finally got around to re-potting my badly-overgrown aloe plant! Now I am trying to give away all the extras that were in the pot.
One day last week when I had a little more energy I experimented with canning my own tomato soup. That will be another post for another day, after I am done helping my daughter for a few days post-surgery.
