Catching Up (Sept 2025)
It’s Wednesday 17th of September as I type this. I’m at home and I have just finished eating a personally made bowl of beef-flavoured 2 minute noodles, mince meat, with steamed broccoli and pasta sauce.
Simple but tasty.
A few months ago I decided to see if I could still watch old movies and TV series that I missed for whatever reason.
Right now I am preparing to watch the first season of Space: 1999.
Previously I had seen Casablanca and Doctor Strangelove and noticed how much they influenced Star Wars.
I also saw movoes like Jaws 2, which seems to be a study in PTSD, but also in story structure and movie making, even if the ending isn’t the best, and the original Halloween movie which is almost a guide on how to stalk someone.
The late Donald Pleasence has top billing, even before the movie’s title comes up which I find hilarious for some strange reason.
Work Matters
The reason for the delay between posts is that I have been working rather solidly over the past few weeks.
The main event has been the Royal Adelaide Show where I worked for 12 days straight and had 2 days of post show clean up.
You can see my YouTube video about the event here:
I had an induction to another job I wanted. The initial physicial induction was only a few hours long. The secondary online induction was really boring and took me 4 days to complete. I got paid for the initial induction today.
Last night they gave me an emergency replacement shift because someone didn’t turn up. A nice 5 hour shift. Sweet.
The job was essentially selling tickets to the carpark at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and the rest was walking security laps and making sure cars didn’t run over students when the event finished.
I’ve had a few hospitality gigs at the Morphettville Racecourse (I’ve had to go down a pants size because I nearly had a “wardrobe malfunction” while I was carrying 3 plates during a VIP function!).
When I am not working I have been getting a friend of mine to help improve my resume and cover letters for fulltime government jobs.
Last weekend there was also the Papercuts Comic Festival too but I will discuss that in another blog post.
Oh and as of today I officially made it back down to 87kg, only this time with more muscle mass. Awesome stuff.
After the second episode of Space: 1999 I’ll go for an evening walk.
Thank you for reading, upvoting, commenting and even reblogging.
Until next time…
