It has been a busy week. The contractor has been working on putting up new drywall. He comes after working a full day at his job, then comes over for two hours each night.
It has been a process, to say the least, but it is all up and ready for me to prime.
I got two coats of primer on the drywall. Then it was time to paint the following day.
The following day, he came over to put the trim on the walls. I had it all prepped for him, primed and painted with one coat.
Once the trim was up, the contractor was done with his part of the remodel. I had to countersink the nails and fill the holes. I then had to fill in any gaps with caulk before doing the final coat of paint.
Next, the new lights were put up, and now we wait until Monday for the plumber to come and fix the pipe that leaked. He will install the faucet and put the toilet back in place.
That's when I get to hang the new mirror and decorate the bathroom with the new accessories. I will be sure to share a photo of the finished project in a future post.
In between all the painting, it was time to clean out the pond and get it running.
The toads have started screaming for a mate at night, and that's a sign that we have to get that big job done. Every spring, we have to drain and clean out the leaves before the toads lay their eggs.
Guess who showed up right on schedule, toads! Sure enough, time for mating.
Then I spotted two frogs as well. Spring has sprung, and the creatures are emerging.
The following day, I had just enough energy to remove all the plastic from around the porch. Getting that done made my day, and Mika and I took the afternoon to enjoy sitting on the porch together. Thank goodness those big jobs are done. I'm tired and need a few days to recover from all the work.
Have a wonderful weekend, my friends.
