Ever since they started making Christmas trees with the snowy effect, I have been wanting one. I can't have a real tree in my home because I am very sensitive to the pine trees. So, this November I finally splurged and bought one for myself.
The box was long, skinny, and very heavy. It was hard to believe they squished a 7.5' tree into it.
I got the first section out of the box and set it on the stand. It took me some time to get all the branches fluffed out before I put the second section on.
I plugged in the second section to the base and all the lights were working. I continued fluffing out the branches and finally got the third section placed on top. The tree almost touched the ceiling and does not have room for a tree topper, oops.
It took over two hours to assemble and fluff all those branches. I decided that I would wait for the next day to start decorating it.
Day 2 - Decorating
This year, I decided on blue, green, and champaign colors. I like to have a different-looking tree each year since I have collected so many decorations over the past 50 years. Now, don't try to figure out my age, lol.
The branches on the tree are so dense that you hardly have to put any large ones towards the inside. I added in all the little animal and owl ornaments I purchased three years ago. I think they are so adorable and go well with the snowy look.
I have deer, squirrels, and two styles of owls scattered around the tree.
I have to admit that the squirrel and its fluffy tail are my favorite. He is just too cute!
It has been many years since I had a real tree and decorated it with the traditional style. I lean more towards a shimmery, glammy, tree. I just love things that sparkle with all the lights.
Here the tree is lit up at night with the little deer and just the white lights.
Here I have the tree programmed to colored lights. Believe it or not, there is only one strand of lights but they can be set to white, colors, twinkling, fading, and more.
Day 3 The Swag
I put an evergreen swag up on the fireplace and used matching ornaments from the tree. It also has lights that can be either white, colored or a combination of both. I love the white lights and my husband favors the traditional colors. So we alternate between the two or use them both together. Which is your favorite way to enjoy your Christmas tree?
I have the entire house, inside and out decorated already. My son is bringing his wife and my grandson for the first time to New York for a visit. They reside in Panama and I usually fly down to stay with them every few years. This year they are coming for Thanksgiving and we will celebrate Christmas while they are here. We are so excited!
Now, I can concentrate on meal planning since the house is ready. I will continue to share all the decorating in future posts. Happy holidays to all.
Until next time, this is Sunscape
