There is one decluttering project I do every January, clear out files from the previous year. I'm a bit behind schedule but finally emptied the file cabinet and got to it. I'm one of those that keeps paper documents to a minimum. The only ones that are saved are those used for tax purposes. I keep those for 7 years and then toss them too.
I knew it was going to take me most of the morning to get through most of them. I proofed some yeast to make another loaf of Artisan Bread for my hubby.
Once I got the dough mixed and kneaded, I let it rise for two hours. Back to the files, tearing up old bills and keeping what was important while the bread rose.
I got through most of the files by the time the bread was done baking and decided to take a break for lunch.
Of Course, salad was on the menu for the day topped with a bit of sauerkraut. I still have a large jar of it in the fridge that needs to be eaten.
Since I was going through so many files, I pulled out all the necessary documents to take to the tax accountant. Now, I just need to make the appointment and that will be done for another year.
During the winter months I keep busy by cleaning and organizing closets. Last week I did my clothes closet and donated some clothes that I no longer needed. That was a big job to get done but felt so good to declutter that part of my room. Next, I will be going through all the dresser drawers, but that will be sometime this weekend.
I'm still missing my flowers, and this was from the butterfly garden this past summer. It is still snowing again today so I might have to find another closet to clean out.
