Hello Hello Hivians.
I have been a busy bee this morning in between cleaning some of the house and catching up on Hive and of course listening to random tunes on come Ian Dury and the Blockheads with Reasons to be Cheerful, Part 3 and after the last couple of days I was hell yeah Reasons to be Thankful too!
What a beautiful weekend we have just had.
This was the scene on the main part of our beach this weekend.
We had glorious weather and there were people swimming, paddle boarding, bbqing and generally having fun, and we were saying who needs to drive to an airport and have all the hassle of flying to get sun when we have all this on our doorstep and it is free.
But then you get fluffing eejits who would do anything to ruin it for the majority.
We have trash bins galore around these picnic tables.
So of course, we did clear up their mess, as I don't want the animals getting hold of that plastic.
The views nature gives us for free are just gorgeous.
Talking of nature and free, she also showed us some gorgeous families...
Happy Mother's Day
Today is Mother's Day in America and some other countries around the globe, so it was fitting we saw some mothers in action.
The Eider family and fluffing cuteness
I think Eider ducks are so funky looking, the black and white males with their weird head.
If you look carefully at the brown bird, which is the female duck and the mother you can see some ducklings on her right!
It wasn't just those Eider ducks with kids that we saw...
Ruddy Turnstones
This little family will get their own post too.
These wee wading birds are called Ruddy Turnstones...
What a corker of a name, do you know why they are called that?
Seafield Seals
The seals are always fun to see, although I really need to bring my camera to get up and close to them.
The tide was high when we went which was cool, and we decided to go for a decent walk...
Hike up high
I will make a proper post of the Fife Coastal Path that we walked which stretches along the coast in Fife where we are.
It often runs parallel to the railway, which is where we are now.
This fence stops you falling onto the railway track and can you see those teeny weeny flowers?
I of course thought of Eka and his #sundayrandom, where he shares some random macro shots.
Well you can't get much more random than some teeny flowers by the railway track in Fife, Scotland. Just look at the magnified hairs on the flower leaves and stems.
Can you see the castle?
I have walked up and down this beach umpteen times, and it was not until yesterday when I was taking this picture that I saw the castle in the background.
Ravenscraig castle is at the other end of the town in a nice park, and I need to take some pictures again of it. It was closed for a few years but they reopened it a couple of months ago.
We really do have loads to do here and so much to be thankful for.
I love how families with wee kids actually get out and play making sandcastles and digging holes in the beach.
It felt like rolling back the years!
In this fcked up world of ours, where people are intent on satisfying their own egos and destroying others, it is good to take a minute and realise just how much we have to be thankful for.
