Hello Hello to all you fun-loving Hivians
What a weekend it has been, a veritable sublime Sunday if you will to finish off a wonderfully wicked weekend!
I am sure that you know that the weekend saw HiveFest8 being held in Rosarito in Mexico and there were some awesome presentations.
Hive is great, but what the fluff is it?
Listening to many of the presentations, I was hmm there are normal users who have not been onboarded and then there are people here for 4+ years so am sure know the bells and whistles, but for the most part new users will have no scooby doo what is going on techincal wise...
I think as many have said before it is time for the dapps and layer 2's to push the big boy layer 1 Hive to the next level.
People can get the hang of ecency, they can get Leo Finance, they already get Splinterlands and a heck of a lot of those players have no clue about Hive.
So I am all for simple onboarding methods. Infact I am going to have a go onboarding from now to the end of the year.
Well that is the theory... Let's see how we get on!
Today Rangers laboured to a 1-0 home win over Motherwell at football. Talk about chalk and cheese.
On Thursday we were swashbuckling and putting a big La Liga team to the sword, yet this afternoon we nearly screwed up!
Today was the birthday of Mrs T's elsest sister and the younger one sent a Just Eat meal to us so they could all celebrate on a videocall together.
The restaurant is called Pommies and they have a buffet in town. This was hot when it was delivered. The box is called a Munchie Box. The size was 16 fluffing inches!
It was delicious and we are a 1/3 of it. So no need for me to cook tomorrow or Tuesday probably too!
It even came with a big bottle of Irn Bru!
The price was pretty reasonable as far as I am concerned for the amount of food we received and the quality, taste and heat!
It was £22.50 delivered to our door.
I saw post today lamenting the loss to Ireland from the reigning world champions South Africa in the rugby world cup.
That could well have been the final as far as I am concerned, they are top in the world at the moment.
Unfortunately, Scotland are in the same group lol. Tough luck for us as we basically need to beat Ireland to qualify for the Quarter Finals.
Oh well miracles do happen on a daily basis.
Earlier on we had been listening to a podcast called Something rhymes with Purple which I think for any aspiring writers they might want to listen to. Or for any Silvers you might want to listen to this. It is pretty funny and is hosted by Susie Dent and Gyles Brandreth.
Winner of the Gold Award for Best Entertainment Podcast at the British Podcast Awards 2020.
Susie Dent and Gyles Brandreth invite you to enhance your vocabulary, uncover the hidden origins of language and share their love of words in this award-winning podcast, Something Rhymes with Purple.
All this podcast talk, don't forget that #napodpomo is coming up for it's 16th year if I remember right
For those of you who don't know Jennifer () created #napodpomo! So are you going to publish a podcast episode daily in November?
That is my goal according to Matilda!
The reason I brought up the purple podcast is that they bring up three words from the Oxford dictionary that are not really used today.
So as I was writing my Saturday Savers Post up popped one word that I thought was so apt and immediately thought of 1 and 2 my fellow Saturday Savers Scot
!
The word is a Scottish word... with definition from here
forenail (Scots)
Alternative forms fornale
Verb: To pledge or earmark money for future use before it is earned.
Perhaps there should be a Saturday Savers word of the week!
My last word from the Purple show is not really a word as such. Because I know the majority of you will know it.
I am sure you all know the meaning of ASKEW
Well for something fun ... ask google what is askew!
Thanks for visiting and I wish you all a terrific rest of your day.
