Hello Hello awesome bees of the Hive
I woke up this morning, now that is always a reason to be thankful.
Actually I had work to do yesterday online for a new client and did not get to bed until about 3.30am and then woke up at 6am. So it was a case of going to bed in the morning and waking up in the morning, but hey ho I am still thankful for waking up.
Today was a massive day for football so I was quite apprehensive to put it mildly, more to follow on this at the end.
The first thing I did after I had my obligatory early morning coffee was to check Hive.
My reputation had increased to 62, bam another reason to be thankful on this terrific Thursday. Six months ago I joined Hive, but it is only this year that I have really started to get up and running with it.
At seven o'clock the sun was shining. Can you believe it, sun in Scotland in March😎
So, I decided to go for a walk on the beach and blow the cobwebs away.
However, Scotland being Scotland, by the time I got dressed and headed to the beach, the weather had turned🤣
Mr Sun had vanished behind the gloomy grey clouds and by the time I was on the beach front looking for sea glass, the wind had whipped up and it was bracing to put it mildly.
Unperturbed I kept on going and found some interesting pottery shards in unusual red and terracotta colours.
I caved in though, and it was time for Plan B.
There is a Morrison's supermarket almost on the beach front. We have sand dunes over here that are often full of brambles and bushes. My legs got a good workout clambering through and over the soft sand then the bushes and into the grocery store. They do have an okay cafe, and my reward for the fresh air and wee clamber was a decent enough Americano coffee and a bacon roll.
Sitting down eating a bacon roll and a coffee. Buying a bacon roll and coffee. The world is in a sad state of affairs and it just makes you realise that there is always someone worse off than you. That is what my mother used to tell me. Unfortunately it so true. I am a bit of a news junkie, and the situation for civilians in Ukraine really gets to me at times.
Bottom line is that I am thankful for a roof over my head and the ability to be able to go safely to the beach and buy a drink and a bite to eat.
What we take for granted is a luxury to a vast population of this planet of ours.
My Terrific Thursday kept on giving me reasons to be thankful for though.
I got a Hive notification, that there was a new post in the Silver Bloggers community.
Bam, I had won second place in a beauty contest (where did that Monopoly reference come from!), no I had actually won second place in their last competition about why I am a silver blogger. The upshot of it was that I had won ten Hive. Awesome news as this will cover my entry for PUM in April. So yet another reason to be thankful on this terrific Thursday. Thank you again to all the team of the awesome Silver Bloggers community. So come on and join in if your fit the silvery criteria!
Friday is tomorrow which means the start of the weekend, and as I am talking about communities on Hive, it gives me another reason to be thankful.
The amazing Gdog has kindly made me a mod in his awesome The Weekend community. I successfully passed the demanding mod boot camp and will be helping keep on top of things, especially image abuse. Do come and check out that awesome community too.
Now to the football to which I alluded to earlier in this blog and here is a screenshot from my twitter feed
We went through against Red Belgrade in the Europa League and are now in the quarterfinals of the Europa League
Yet another reason to be thankful on this terrific Thursday!
The last time that Rangers were in the quarterfinals was in 2008, we went to the final that year in Manchester, I was there.
Last round we knocked out the tournament favourites from Germany, will we progress to the semi finals. Who knows, we shall find out the draw tomorrow!
I am still on cloud 9 but better finish this up and post it in the next few minutes to keep my PUM run going. I am JIT fan but know that worries that I will cut the time just too fine one day🤣
Before I go, this is our song we ran out onto the pitch at Ibrox too, and it applies to each and every one of you.
Because, you are Simply The Best
