Poe Watched Us Clean Through the Kitchen Window While We Getting Mom's House Ready to Sell.
My good friend Poe got me through some really tough times at my mom's house.
Poe watched us intently, caringly through the kitchen window while we cleaned and got the house ready to sell.
Mom just passed away on September 6, 2011, and it was a hectic time for our family. We had to sell the house fast! My brother wanted to get money to my sister and I as quickly as possible. The unfortunate decision to sell the house did happen. We didn't want to sell it - my 2 sister and I. We loved the property with all the beautiful tall firs, pines, Rhododendron bushes, and the abundant wildlife on the 1/4 acre property.
I didn't want mom to leave this world, but she was 92 years old, in a lot of pain with congestive heart failure, unable to walk with her fractured arm, hip, and twisted leg from a fall in the bathroom.
Falling at this late age of 87 years - was all it took to end mom up in a wheelchair. Not being able to walk was so hard on my mom - poor lady. She was in an old folks hospital for a while and nearly died there. The care was poor and she couldn't stand the atmosphere of all the old people! Mom was old but still didn't want to be around all the old people. She didn't have a private room which bothered her very much! One time a senile man got in her bed and she beat him with her newspaper until he left!
Fortunately mom made it home with our pleas to the head doctor at the hospital facility to send her home. Mom lived for 4 more years with an in-home caregiver and my help and Tina's help.
Mom and Our Family Got to Enjoy the Company of the Crow Family and Poe!
Poe is sleeping here while he sat across from the kitchen window on the porch railing. He could get a good view of what we were doing in the house from this particular spot on the railing.
I think Poe knew what we were going through - especially me because I was and still am very in tune with animals
I could see the intelligence in Poe's eyes in the picture above.
He was such a dear little friend. I felt he was trying to send me some comfort too. Please take a long look at the photo above and look at his beautiful dark brown eyes.
I did my best with Adobe Light Room to capture Poe's intelligence and personality in this picture I took in 2011.
Here is another shot of Poe's eyes. Crows are highly intelligent and can tell the difference between individual human faces and identify someone they don't like.
