What the heck does a wood pile have to do with #featheredfriends, you ask?
Well, I can tell you that you will not see any birds in this post.
Let’s take a closer look....
Maybe now you can see what I am getting at...
Still not sure what I am talking about?
Well, yesterday I went out to get some fire wood (it was a pretty chilly morning) and as I entered the wood shed a bird flew out...
I was a little shocked, but okay it happens I mean we live in the woods.
Then I got closer and I saw it.
A beautiful and elegantly constructed, European Robin, birds nest.
Looking at this nest, I noticed the bright green moss sheltering the delicately placed twig foundation.
In all it’s majesty, one can only imagine how the idea of a kings crown came to be. Nature is full of crowns (tree tops, antlers, nests) of course we emulate it’s beauty and power.
The crown of creation, one could say.
I gave the poor nesting mother such a scare I was afraid she wouldn’t return. Curiosity got the best of me and I had to go out once more today and check.
There was no sign of mother bird but she left a message telling me she was still there.
Now I will leave her in peace to tend to her young. No more fires, I guess.
Spring is a great time of year full of creation and wonder!
Have a good one!
