Every week holds a super fun photo contest that challenges people to share pictures of birds based on the theme she picks. This week is Bird on a Roof!
My entry is this beautiful Scrub Jay on a roof.
Scrub Jays move really fast, so I didn't get many clear photos of this bird to share as they flitted about looking for food. Most of what I got was tail feathers and blurry blue streaks, but I did capture them poking around in the eaves, probably looking for spiders.
I also have a picture of a pigeon family on a roof. I took it because I thought the white one was really pretty, but they started scratching and preening as soon as the photoshoot began. Still cute, though. Kinda looks like they're flipping me off. "No paparazzi!!"
I have TONS of photos of crows on rooftops, but since I primarily take pictures of crows, I thought entering one of those would be too easy. So I'll just share this very beautiful crow on the roof of a car.
Aaaaaaand also this video of Bo feeding his fledgling, Minnow, on top of a roof.
(You can learn more about this crow family here!)
Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my entry to the #smap contest. Try it out! It happens every week in the Feathered Friends Community.
