Meet Sidney, the star of my blog Crows in Black and White.
He’s been showing up lately, following me around and asking for food. I've mostly seen him in an area adjacent to Bo’s territory, but I’ve also seen him near Paksmala's territory.
He’s stoopid cute.
He’s stalky and boxy and short for a crow. He reminds me of Danny DeVito as the Penguin. (This has to do with why I decided to call him Sidney. If you follow NHL you'll get the reference.)
He has a cowlick on his beak feathers and a slightly crossed bill, which I hope is only a mild injury or deformity and not Avian Keratin Disorder, which would cause his bill to keep growing until it was unusable.
His personality and appearance remind me very much of a crow I called Beaky who went missing in March. I miss Beaky. It’s painful to think about him being gone. But maybe Sidney is Beaky’s brother. I’m really glad he’s decided I’m ok in his book.
I’ve seen him make displays like males do, so I’m pretty sure he’s male.
I’m not sure if he’s a juvenile or an adult. I just love him, though, and wanted to introduce you.
Ok ttyl gtg.
