This is my entry to the #SMaP Show Me A Photo Contest Round 156 - the theme being small birds.
In my village, there is a stretch of water called the Great Pond of Stubbing. Running alongside it is a single-track lane with two stone pillars at the entrance.
There's lots of people out dog walking in this area, so when people are passing through, they leave bird seed on the stone pillars. Within seconds, the birds will fly down for a food feast.
The robins are usually the first to feed, and unfortunately, they chase the other birds off, which is quite frustrating for the other birds and for me taking photos.
The only bird that didn't seem to be too scared of the robins was the nuthatch. Both birds went for the black sunflower seeds, so there was plenty of food to go around for all of them. I only meant to stay for a few minutes, but people stopped and chatted to me, so I ended up staying for an hour. It was a good way of making friends. I then left the birds to enjoy the food.
The robin left as well!
Thank you ,

and the #featheredfriends team for running the contest.
