Hello everyone, this is my first post in this community @FeatheredFriends . As a person who really loves birds and admires them, this community is a great place for me to know more about them and to share my knowledge about these amazing creatures.
In this post am gonna share with you all about a baby Rufous Treepie bird named Kukuru and how she became a major part in my life.

One day i was going to my friends house in my car . While driving i saw a small bird in the middle of the road. I found it unusual and thought that it may be injured. So i parked my car in the side of the road and went to inspect the bird. It was not an injured bird infact it was a small baby bird which didn't learned how to fly. I gently took it and Kept the baby away from the road and observed it from a distance to see whether its parent bird will come or not. I waited for like an hour and still no signs of her parents. There was fear of baby bird being eaten up by some stray animals like cats and dogs or rats and rodents or predator birds. So i thought of taking it to my house but i had no idea how to take it. Lukly there was an umbrella inside my car. I took the bird and and kept it inside the umbrella and went back to my house.
This was taken on the day i met Kukuru for the first time (kukuru inside the umbrella)
After reaching home i tried feeding her. But she was not taking it. She looked really weak and tired. She was shivering too. So my sister brought a smooth cloth and covered her with it to keep her warm.
It worked, after being covered in the cloth for two hours the baby bird became more active and energetic. We became very happy and then my mother tried feeding her with some brazilian cherries and it went very well . She ate almost 5 berries without any issue . We all were so relieved to see that. Then i contacted several organiszations that worked for birds and animals. But it was of no use. So me and my family thought of raising her by our own and we named her kukuru. This name may sound funny, but for me its a cute name for a cute bird.
I knew that it was not an easy thing and is a big responsibility but my family suported me really well.
As days passed,we got really attached towards Kukuru and we hand feed her every day and the trust between her and us grew stronger every day.

Now she is like a family member to us and now she can fly,not for a long distance but still can cover some short distance. She really loves to sit in our shoulders,While we go out or inside the house. Whenever i watch movies or series she will be in my shoulder watching the same.

When it comes to her diet, she really likes sunflower seeds, bananas, small insects and other pet bird foods but baraba berries is her favorite. Luckily for us we have a Baraba berry tree in our backyard with plenty of berries when its season comes.

When i first saw this cutie, i never thought that it will have such an impact in my life. But the reality is that now i cant even imagine a day without my Kukuru. She really is our little feathered bundle of joy.
