Buteos are one of the more common birds of prey here and I see them very often flying in the sky. But I rarely get any pictures of it sitting somewhere. Back in January this Year I was able to get some nice shots of it sitting on a tree when I was on a photography trip in eastern Austria together with Stefan. Usually I see this bird only when flying above me or above a field where it is hunting for prey, but sitting somewhere is not so easy to get some pictures of the buteo.
I like probably all birds of prey and there are some that I like more than others, the buteo is one of the most common ones so I am usually not so exited seeing it. But since most of the time I only see it flying and there are only a few occasions where I can see it sitting on a tree i have to admit that this is still something more exciting for me.
