European honey-buzzard

Last weekend I was able to take some pictures of the European Honey-buzzard here at the wetlands of the Inn River, it flew above our head when we were walking down the Damm for flood Protection. We took several pictures of it and first thought it is a common buzzard but then realized it has a different coloring and head color. It is so exciting to find so many different species of birds up there in the wetlands, but for birds of prey I am always especially greatfull.

There is always so much to discover at the wetlands and there are so many different birds that show up there either for resting or for living there for several month. But now in Summer it is getting more and more difficult because most of the birds can only be seen when it is not so hot and during the noon time it is very hot already. So the timeframe of spotting interesting birds is decreasing during the summer and only concentrating on early morning and lake evening. This is why I am already looking forward to this autumn and next spring for an enhances activity of birds there. Now during summer I need to concentrate a little on other spots and maybe even landscape photography we will see.
