Kingfishers also some times called "blue diamonds" are some very beautiful birds that hunt for small fish in the rivers and lakes. Last year I managed to take a lot of pictures of this bird and since I now know some spots where it can be found I am pretty sure I will also take some nice pictures of this bird this Year. In Summer when I found this little bird on a pond near the Inn river I also took some videos of it. You can find a video of the bird on bottom on this post.

These birds are very good fishers but also with very good fishing skills they don't always catch a fish when flying down into the water. If they fail the get back up on the same branch or on another branch nearby and try their luck once again till they succeed. If you are well hidden and the bird doesn't recognize you than you might have the luck to see several of it's hunting tries in a row.
