This weekend I visited the wetlands of the Inn River again together with Stefan for some bird photography, we had luck again and could take several pictures of nice birds, but I must admit that there were a lot of mosquitoes and I didn't like them. Even though we use a mosquito repellent, a lot of them still stung me. On a small pond we found some night herons and this cute little kingfisher. I will show you the pictures of the nightherons in a future post here on Hive. Today it is the day for the kingfisher. Here are some pictures and also a Video.

The kingfisher is usually a very shy bird, and it is not so easy to get close to it without, any camouflage. But if you behave very calm and wait for it on a spot where you know it is sitting then it is possible to take some nice pictures and even a video like I did. It is one of the most colorful birds that we have here in Austria and I really like it very much.
