Kingfishers are one of the most colorful birds here in Austria and with their blue-orange color they stand out from most of the other birds here. It is a very good fisher thats whats probably its name is derived from. I know some spots where I can watch this bird and during my numerous photography trips I could already watch this bird several times. One Time I got pretty close to the bird that was hunting near the danube river for some fish. But also the Inn River is a nice spot where this bird can be found regulary. And one thing that is good about this bird is that it has some favorite spots for fishing and as soon as you know them a good strategy is to wait infront of one of these spots for it to fly by, like I did in the first three pictures here.
