I found an article in a magazine about nature photography and read about a flamingo that probably fled from a Zoo and now lives in the wild at the Inn River. Since then I was looking for it and since the article was already some years old I thought it might already left or died. Then I read that some people found it and reported it to the Ornitho App that keeps track of bird sightings. Since then I was looking for sightings of the Flamingo on the App and drove several times to the Inn River to places where it was spotted. But It took me a while to find it. I was amazed when this year in autum I finally was able to see it and even was able to take several pictures of this unusual bird.
I can remember that I saw a flamingo in Florida some years ago, but Florida is usually one of the places where they usually live, along with south America, Southern Europe and Afrika and India. But Austria is usually no place where you can find Flamingos in wildlife.
In Italy there are a few places where you can find Flamingos living and I am looking forward to meeting one at one of these places. One of these places is Comacchio and the Po River Delta.
