Some pictures of a falcon sitting on a branch waiting for some prey

From the fewer colorful bird and from the birds of prey the falcon is one of my favorite ones. It is pretty common here in Austria so i see it several times a month, and I was already able to take several pictures of it. But since it never came extremely close I still don't have a favorite one. I met the falcon here at my home place, at the home of my parents, on several visits in Vienna during my photography trips at the Lake Neusiedler and in Lower Austria. So I can say that I had several opportunities to take some pictures of this bird. My friend Stefan really loves this bird and every time he sees one you can bet to hear his Camera shooting on Continuous Shooting for several seconds.

I like falcons but still I often hope for several more colorful birds, but here in Austria you can only find few colorful birds because if a bird has a lot of color on his/her feathers thant it is often a prey for other birds and therefore has to be ver carefull. So it is either shy or very seldom. I was reasearching about birds in other countries like Costa Rica or in Africa where you can find much more colorful birds than here in the north. Hummingbirds for example, a pitty that they don't live here in Austria. A country with a lot of colorful birds is on my list of future visits. Hopefully when this COVID Situation is over i will be able to travel there.
