Hello, friends.
announced the theme of the 142nd #SMaP tour “Show me a photo” from photographs of long-legged birds.

After looking through my photo archive, I selected several photographs that, in my opinion, fit the theme of the photo competition.

These photographs of Emus at the Kaliningrad Zoo were taken a little over a year ago, in October 2022.

Until the 80s of the last century, Emu was classified as a member of the ostrich order, but then the classification was revised and now Emu is included in the cassowary order.

The emu has three toes on each foot, unlike the ostrich, which only has two toes on each foot. In the wild, Emus live in Australia, they lead a nomadic lifestyle, cannot fly, but can reach running speeds of up to 50 km/h and travel long distances in search of food.
