Aquaint Yourself With Feathered Friends Visiting In Month Of June
Birdwatching has been a passion for some years now, it makes life exciting when taking walks around the garden being able to zoom into spectacular birdlife that is ever changing.
Most importantly spending time observing birds in the natural habitat gets you into the fresh air, appreciate the warmth of the sun, pontificate how we live today, is idiocracy looking and sounding more like a documentary every day?
Fortunately our thoughts are safe with our feathered friends who are now making us hone in on patience skills trying to observe and capture them enjoying life to the full, oh to be as free as a bird...
Lighting, distance, size of bird all come into play once you behind the lens hoping your reflexes are quick enough to capture the right shot. Nature absorbs you into making you become one with the outdoor community.
Light in step, quietly moving forward for a better view one forgets time, totally enraptured in thrilling moments enjoying victory of a couple of good photos.
All in all birdwatching keeps my mind active making me happy not only when doing photography, once back indoors checking photography, identifying the bird, never ending learning about the different feathered friends that visit your neighbourhood.
Visiting friends online learning more about birds across the waters that divide us.
Birdwatching you notice plants that keep the birds happy in close proximity which leads to your garden becoming more bird welcoming by design.
Indian Myna birds were introduced to South Africa in the early 1900's now and Alien invasive bird arriving in great numbers, only the Starlings chase them away on a regular basis. One has to admit the are very intelligent birds, mimic other birds and do know how to have a chat when occasion arises.
Weaver birds arrive to enjoy the bird feeder seeds daily along with Cape Sparrow here is one spying at me through the dense bush.
Weaver birds have become quite relaxed with me around this photo was taken within ten foot of them and they happily carried on nibbling away at the seed.
It would be remiss of me not to include my 'biggest buddy' in town the Brown-hooded Kingfisher, he sits on a branch close to the window of the room I use during the day as a study.
He has now become familiar with me pushing the window wide open, he actual listens to the clicks of the camera and responds, Oh they joy of birds coming to keep you company during the day.
Listening intently to camera chatter...
Readying himself to fly away and get along with catching some worms for late morning tea time.
The landscapes of our life surrounds us, wishing you a wonderful weekend, thank you for joining me.
All photography is my own, any queries or requests please drop a comment below, have a wonderful day!
