Shore Birds Close To Or On The Beach
Pelican appears to be the White pelican from afar with Grey heron mixing alongside while some take it easy resting on a log washed down, sunbathing during midday sun, good idea.
St Lucia Estuary seasonally the sea washes into the estuary, with Pelicans in flight down river to reach the opening, fishing rights at the end of day!
Standing tall Goliath heron (Ardea goliath), also known as the giant heron, wades through the waters edge ever search to poach the next morsel of food behind on the bank a group of Grey heron onlookers to cheer him on, happy hunting we will follow soon.
Blacksmith lapwing running the beach, life is always busy feeding young hidden somewhere in the dunes, be sure to avoid going close to nests they will bomb dive you!
Grey-headed gull one of the many sea birds you will see along our coastline, coming into land on jagged rocks glad it's not my feet!
Simply giving me the eye, well come any closer, she's my gal..., I was rather close after all....
