I'm thrilled to see that FeatheredFriends has become a community!
I still haven't learned all the details about communities but I do know this is something that has been a long time coming. Today I'd like to make my first post in the new community and this will be all about the birds of spring. I'm super excited!
Beacon Hill Park is one of the best places in my area for bird watching. A warm spring day brings out all the bird watchers and the birds are there to meet them... and they're hungry!
The Peacocks have grown their tail feathers again. This means they will soon be looking to attract mates.
All the birds are pairing off now. This pair of Canadian Geese was circling overhead and allowed me to snap off a few shots.
Next I saw a couple of male Mallard Ducks on the prowl... Where the ladies at???
Here's one lovely couple that have already paired off.
The great blue heron colony is beginning to arrive back in the park. I haven't seen any signs of nest building yet, they're all just arriving and checking each other out I guess. It's still early days...
Finally, if the first batch of photos don't make you think of spring, here's proof positive... the first American Robin, perched in my cherry tree. I hope you enjoyed these photos, thanks for visiting.
