Have you ever seen this bird? π― At first I thought it was a duck, but itΒ΄s not!

Look at their big feet. Seems like those funny bird legs are very good for swimming!

But these birds can also look majestic.

Hmmm... Seems like theyΒ΄re plotting something here...
β¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦
And they like apples, just like the smiley duck I posted last week!
β¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦
But... if they're not exactly ducks, what kind of birds are they then?
β¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦ββ¦
According to the internet, the common coot is the type species of the genus Fulica, which belongs to the family Rallidae, a family of medium-sized ducks and semi-aquatic birds. So it seems they are indeed related to ducks!
