The week is coming to a close in the western hemisphere, and the weekend lies ahead of us. I thought it would be great to welcome it with the help of a few feathered friends. I've picked several random shots that I've taken throughout the year and possibly beyond. I took them in various locales around the city, so these birds are used to living in urban environments.
Crow flying low over the water
Northern Flicker (bottom left)
This was actually a pair of flickers that were frolicking up on the branches. I don't know what they were up to there, but they were very loud about it.
Female Grosbeak
Male Grosbeak
The male seen here had a loud chirpy call. He was definitely excited about something, and I think that something were the sassy females bouncing on branches nearby.
I've also been experimenting with monochromatic settings for different subjects. Given their intriguing body frames, birds have not escaped my notice.
A pair of Canada Geese
Canada Goose
Thank you for joining me in this avian showcase.
