Hello everyone, this is my first post under #FeatheredFriends, I hope you will like this post and at least will learn a little from the facts that I'll be sharing.

I got these photos when we had the chance to visit the Ultra Winds Forest Park in Bukidnon, I really enjoyed looking at the peacock although I was not really sure if it's really a peacock LOL.

Peacock or not?
Maybe a lot of you are wondering why even if it's so clear I still asked in my title if it's a peacock or not. the reason is that even if "peacock" is commonly used for both sexes but technically peacock refers to the male bird, females are actually called "Peahens" and both of them are called "Peafowl".

Peacocks have a vibrant eye-shaped marking of a different color, in my photos blue is more prevalent.
A peacock actually uses his train to attract the attention of the female peacock or the peahen. While facing the peahen, a peacock lifts its feathers upward and spreads them out to make a giant fan, so that makes this one in the photo a male bird.

Peacock is a symbol of immortality
Ancient Greeks believed that the flesh of peafowl did not decay after death, so it became a symbol of immortality. A peacock drinking from a vase is also a symbol of eternal life.
The peacock is still used in the Easter season. The 'eyes' in its feathers symbolize the all-seeing Christian God.

So that's all for my first #FeatheredFriends post, I hope to be able to submit more in the future.
Keep safe everyone and God bless!
