I recently wrote a post about the wet lands near me that me and my daughter often ride around everyday.
During lockdown it has been our great escape from reality and given us something to look forward to each day. We even sometimes take some fish that we buy from the fish monger fresh and feed the pelicans.
Quite often these majestic birds don't stray too far away from their island as they are out of harms way.
Yesterday something happened that has never happened before.
Two of the beautiful birds came towards us, mind you this is a popular walking track that easily hundreds walk past each day.
There is a bridge that cuts right through the centre of the main lake where the pelicans reside and they never come close.
Yesterday as my daughter and I stopped on the bridge looking into the distance two of the birds saw us and came towards us!
My 3 yr old shouted "daddy! Look, they're coming to see us!" Unfortunately we didn't have any fish today :(
Next time we go for a ride we will he sure to bring some fish with us to feed them.
