Great news everyone we have found a fourth Australian Black Swan Nest and how awesome is this positioning?
We previously shared there were 3 nests in the wetlands around our home and sadly one nest was toppled by high winds causing the loss of eggs.
That pair of Swans than constructed a new nest and laid 3 eggs. Sadly their new nest was in shallow ankle deep water close to the bank of the lake which resulted in someone's pet dog destroying the nest.
On our walk the other day we noticed something black in the middle of the island on what appeared to be a structure of half a meter tall.
By zooming in we saw that it was in fact a fourth nest, safely tucked away out of reach from harm.
What are your thoughts? Will this family survive? Will the eggs hatch in time or have they missed breeding season?
