When my family was here this past weekend they went out to see if they could get any photos of the baby bald eagles.
There are two nests that are near to me along the Rock River, although neither one is very approachable for photos. Can you see large stick structure.,(which can be 5–6 feet wide) in the crook of one of the tall trees. This is as close as you can get, but the camera zoom brings it a little closer.

Each nest appears to have 3 baby eagles that hatched at the end of April
They are among the fastest-growing birds in North America. An eaglet can gain up to several ounces a day, reaching nearly adult size in just 10 to 12 weeks.
>Both parents share the responsibility of feeding the hatchling. They meticulously tear small, bite-sized pieces of fish or small mammals to offer to the chick.

Their heads appear to be all beak at this stage!

The fledglngs will leave the nest between 10-13 weeks.

In between food gathering trips the adults remain close to the nest.
