And I must also say that these photos have just come out of the luminous halls of my Photoshop Lightroom. (edit) The power’s gone! :(
Just a little five-hour blackout, but those are minor details…Everyone, come and meet Paco el Fiera, the Aguaitacaimán (Butorides virescens) from Santa Fe.
😄
According to our host , Show Me A Photo Contest Round 249 is about telling what thrilled us in our documented birding, if we were lucky enough to see a new species… in my case I wasn’t, though there’s no other green herons like Paco — you know, the Fierce, el Fiera.
Alright, be patient as the images will gradually improve… this was the first photo I managed to capture after Paco pounced on a guajacón (maybe a tadpole) in a puddle in the middle of the street.
The moment when it pounced on the little amphibian in its stage… well, I don’t know… it pounced on its prey, and I wasn’t able to take that photo. There were many distractions, but that’s the beauty of the story.
Because he’s such a fierce one that not even an almendrón (an old car used as a taxi) scares him. He keeps his flow, hunting guajacones. And then, once he realised he was in a photo session, well… you’ll see!
Did Paco the Fierce feel lucky to model for a future NatGeo photographer?
Indeed! 😂
No, I was really the lucky one to be able to photograph him or her. 😁 Honestly, I’m really not skilled enough in this art to know whether it was Paco or Paca.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this story. More information about this bird can be found here.
