Although according to the calendar spring. But today it is quite cool and windy. To be honest, I did not expect to meet any birds in the forest. I just walked along the path and looked around. In front of the road were two large old trees. From afar, it seemed to me that someone was sitting on a tree trunk.
I immediately prepared my camera and began to slowly approach the tree. Soon I saw that 2 nuthatches were sitting on a tree trunk. They diligently searched for food among the punishment tree. They didn't notice me. But they sat quite high and sometimes pieces of the punishment that were torn off by the nuthatch fell on me.
I didn't have to wait long to be able to photograph these nuthatches. They were busy with their work and paid almost no attention to me.
Apparently there was a lot of food and they did not break away from their work. It is simply amazing how such small birds quite easily tore off pieces of punishment from a tree. In appearance, the car looked quite solid and monolithic. But apparently they looked out for cracks there and easily tore off pieces of punishment.
Sometimes they easily ran across the trunk in search of new areas for their work. Although the weather was not very good, they must have been hungry. The place was also not bad chosen by them. There was almost no wind behind the big tree trunk.
The nuthatches worked hard and climbed higher and higher up the trunk of the tree. I had to move a little to the side to see them. But they noticed me and quickly darted to the other side of the tree. I couldn't see them there. But still I was pleased that I managed to photograph them.
