I met this woodpecker in the forest when I was walking along the path to the place where there was a large stump on which we always left food for birds.
I go and see how a bird sat on a tree ahead. Slowly I approached and saw that it was a woodpecker. He sat on a tree trunk and looked for something in the square. The tree was already old and apparently one could find worms and bark beetles there.
Then he flew to a nearby Christmas tree and began to peck a bump there. But apparently the cones were not very tasty, he again returned to the old tree. He sat down in the crevice of the trunk and began to examine everything around.
He sat there for a long time, shaking his head all the time. Apparently he was deciding where to fly again to find food for himself. He probably couldn't decide where to go. Maybe he didn't know where there was food in that place.
I already wanted to leave. But the woodpecker started up and again flew towards the Christmas tree. Apparently he hoped to find food for himself in the cones that hung on the Christmas tree. There were a lot of cones and the choice was very large. He began to pull them again and it was clear how the husks from the cones were falling down to the ground. I noticed that some of the cones were tattered. Probably the woodpecker had already been here before and ate cone seeds.
I did not interfere with him any more and slowly walked further along the path to put food for the birds on a large stump. It's good that I managed to photograph this woodpecker along the way.
