Hello feathered friends.
Today I'll share with you a few photos of the Eurasian Hoopoe.
This little fellow lives somewhere near my house. I've seen this bird a few times but never had a chance to capture it. Today was my lucky day, and finally, I managed to get close enough.
It has beak well built to catch, but to swallow the captured prey, it must first throw it up and then catch it. The feeding process can be seen in the following photos.
The hoopoes fly by swinging their rounded wings unevenly, and when they stop, they raise their crests. They are great flyers and can cross long distances.
Thanks for stopping by.
