Maybe this is my shot of the year, as that is the moon behind this guy.
Our car is now so well trained after 8 years that it automatically stops when it senses that I want to take a photo. And what a photo this one was.
But these shots don't come about easily, or on a platter, as it takes some effort to get the alignment spot on. I will show you the process that I followed below.
This is a Jackal Buzzard.
I said that I would show you my method to get him on the moon and here below is Step 1.
Walk far around the tree where the bird is into the bushes and check the alignment of the target with the moon.
Step 2.
As you walk, take shots to gauge the distance that you have to walk, as you can see below that the moon was getting closer to the bird.
Yep! The zoom told me to slow down and all the time I was so hoping that the bird would not fly away.
But fortune was with me today and I finally got the alignment correct.
Yet another exciting surprise was waiting for me.
I walked back to the car and zoomed back at the bird just at the right time, as he was fluffing. Now when a bird fluffs, it means that it is going to fly.
And this time round he took off straight over me, as on a previous occasion, he simply dived down and I couldn't get the take off.
And finally he was gone!
Never has this happened before, as something always went wrong whenever I tried to get things right. But this time Lady Fortune was with me. I can tell you that you might know that I am very passionate about nature and no amount of money can pay for this experience that I had.
It has a fantastic result on my spirit and I feel like I am swooning when a series of shots works out like this.
I hope that you have enjoyed the photos and the story.
And That's all Friends.
