She popped up on a rock from the roadkill at our approach and her beak told me that it's not a crow.
I also have a surprise at the end of the post!
No stopping lines are painted on the narrow mountain pass roads, so I had to take the photos from the driver's seat.
We were high up near the top of the mountain with a dizzying drop down at the right of the narrow road and sheer cliff faces at the left. So it was "Hazard" lights on and photo time.
The White-necked Raven (Corvus albicollis) was sitting here at the roadkill before she popped onto the rock.
Here is another shot of this beautiful bird.
Suddenly the husband appeared with a guttural warning call that I heard for the first time.
Bang! They took off and I knew that they would not be back until we were gone.
There was no way to wait for their return as it might take a long time and what would I do with car on this narrow "No Parking" road?
Now here is the surprise that I mentioned!
On our way back, we passed this sheep farm and I have never seen so many Kelp Gulls (Larus dominicanus) gathered on land.
A huge flock of them all over the sky and we assumed that they were eating sheep droppings.
Yes, you guessed it, as we will go back to that sheep farm to get better photos that are not hazed by the sun.
There were also Heron's and a floating falcon; and another lure is that they also have a small dam there that should be filled with life.
Let's just hope that the farm owner will allow me to take photos.
Our life is certainly filled with many adventures.
And That's All Friends!
Note: All photos are my own and taken with a Canon Powershot SX60HS, bridge camera.
We hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and thank you for visiting a post by
