Oh yes! They are back for the breeding season. These are two "Blue Cranes" (Anthropoides paradiseus)
We took a short drive to our local airfield and on the way we stopped to take some photos from our car of the surrounding nature and wild birds on the farms.
As usual we were pleasantly surprised!
A Guinea fowl took the lead here to show the Blue Crane a better feeding spot 😃
The above photo is just to give you an idea about the road that we were traveling on!
This little plover like "Capped Wheatear" (Oenanthe pileata) popped up to have a look at us!
The Wheatear's mate was close by doing her thing!
At the same time a "Black headed Heron" (Ardea melanocephala) came flying over in the sharp sunlight!
Then we stopped on the road next to a small farm dam!
A little spring youngster floated on the water.
That had to be one of the parents nearby.
Finally here's a view of the dam and you can see three ducks in this picture!
And that's All Friends!
We had a coffee at the airfield and a chat to the manager, as he is a friend. I will show you some photos that I took there in another post.
We hope that you have enjoyed this one!
