🦉 The common rosefinch (Carpodacus erythrinus)
- Carpodacus Greek: karpos fruit, daknō to bite
- erythrinus erythros (Greek, lat.) red
Despite their bright appearance, these birds are not always seen. Birds prefer to hide in the foliage and sing songs. However, if, thanks to the weather, it turned out that when the birds arrived but there was no foliage yet, then the birds had nowhere to hide.
And sometimes it happens that particularly experienced and mature males do not even hide, but rather choose branches where everyone can see them.
The bird is granivorous, despite the Latin name, but yes, closer to autumn the bird eats berries and fruits.
