π¦ The Eurasian three-toed woodpecker (Picoides tridactylus)
- Picoides picus (lat.) woodpecker, -oides similar
- tridactylus tridaktylos (Greek) three-toed

Something very strange. I haven't seen these woodpeckers for a very long time. They usually appear in September-October, and together with other birds they roam through the forests. Wikipedia says that they live mainly in continuous dark coniferous taiga. But I havenβt seen them in such forests for a long time either.

Nevertheless, this species of woodpecker is very interesting. Unlike other woodpeckers, it does not inspect trees over three meters, or even two. Every time I met them, they only pecked trees from below, then flew to another.
