🦉 Siberian chiffchaff (Phylloscopus (collybita) tristis)

• tristis sad, gloomy, mournful

This nondescript bird is almost indistinguishable from the common Chiffchaff, except that its plumage is slightly duller, with a grayish tint. However, there is something that distinguishes it. This is its song (which the common one does not have). And by the way, it received the name "sad" for its song, monotonous, with descending notes, reminiscent of a sad whistle. Although in my opinion, the song is, on the contrary, perky and cheerful.

It arrives early, around the end of April (or even in the middle, if it is already warm). It lives not only in mixed or deciduous forests, but it can even be heard in the courtyards of houses or parks.
