The yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella)
In Russia and adjacent countries, this bird is called, or rather, name of this bird is sounds like "oatmeal". She was so nicknamed for the fact that in ancient times, when there were no cars, these birds entered the horses stables and ate oats.
This yellow-lemon bird prefers to settle in various sparse forests, as well as dry forest-steppes. But our meeting took place in general in the meadows. This meadow is filled with tall grass and undergrowth, and in the midst of it all grew a lonely low tree. It was there that I saw this family. Yes, you can see young birds and a female here. Seeing me, the birds got worried, and chirped with displeasure, although these birds must be accustomed to people.
This video was shot by me in autumn, in September. The grown nestlings are already ready for a long flight from Siberia to the western and southern regions of the country, where they wintering. And so it happened that a week later at this very place, in these meadows, I did not meet them.
