My entry to Feathered Friends contest - Round 73 - hosted by .
Theme is
BIRDS BUMS/BOTTOMS
The ruffled grouse, sometimes called a partridge, was the first bird I thought of who showed his bottom.
I’ve mentioned the little male grouse before when he was chasing the hens. He moves slowly trying to look sexy and attractive ~ fanning out his neck and tail feathers and making a drumming noise.
The drumming sound is actually made by the male bird cupping his wings and rapidly beating them against the air. It is generally believed that the drumming warns other male grouse to keep away and attracts hens when they are ready for mating.
Source
A couple chickens belonging to a friend. The blonde chicken is bend down searching for something in the grass. The black one looks to be a Silkie rooster.
The dove and the squirrel peacefully coexisting in the backyard.
Not only birds but the visiting squirrel always has his head down and bottoms up!
