During this time of year we hear distant gobbles from these birds and sometimes we get lucky enough to see them. They tend to come out near the edge of the woodline, but sometimes they come out further and into the fields. In that case I saw one and got my camera out to get some pictures.

This is a big one, and it was just slowly walking through the fields not really caring what is around. Probably has some big talons on it for protection..lol
It started to rain, we can see the water drops in the picture.
I hope to see more, this is probably just the start for the season.
Last year we saw families of them along with their poults.
It kept walking further, I think it noticed me.
As it went seems it had no cares for me at all.
Its always cool seeing them up close. Well as close as a wild turkey will let it get from me.
The rain was starting to pick up at this point.
Eventually it made its way across the field and went into the bushes.
