I was at the kitchen sink when this Cooper Hawk landed on the plant holder next to the pond.
It was searching for food and you can see by those eyes that he knew there were sparrows in the Hemlock nearby.
Then just like that, he was off and captured one of them as they flew out of the tree. Nature is amazing yet sometimes hard to watch when on the hunt.
It was a treat to see the bird so close and I took the photos through the window, they came out fairly clear. Have a great week birdwatchers.
