Hello Hello to all Hivians and indeed anyone reading this.
Some of my favourite posts to write on Hive are the feathered friends posts, especially as the rewards go to buying their food in the park.
The pictures in this post were all taken on Sunday August 31st 2025 in a park in Perth.
This is the 51st (Highland) Division War Memorial located in the North Inch public park in Perth.
It was dedicated on May 13, 1995 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe.
We had sat down at a bunch to have lunch when I spied this wee chappy on his own.
So I had a wee chat with him ...
The marching Black-headed Gull
By the left, quick march!
The black headed gull or Chroicocephalus ridibundus is not really a black headed gull at all! The black is chocolate brown and in reality for much of the year it is white like in the picture.
Head pose
The orange beak is pretty sharp, and they are wee buggers.
Did you know there are 130,000 pairs almost the same in dollars as one Bitcoin!
Classic Black-headed Gull pose
(Chroicocephalus ridibundus)
They are not really seagulls as such, as you as likely to see them inland as you are on the coast.
This post though, is an entry for this week's Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 239 hosted by the wonderful in the fantastic Feathered Friends community on Hive
And I shall pick this one for the entry
Eyeing up the Prize
That was a tricky choice to make and a process of elimination.
I think the head portrait takes the prize this time. I might do a similar shot when the chocolate head comes back!
What do you think? Was that your favourite?
Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day!
All images and ramblings are from me, the mad Scotsman TengoLoTodo unless otherwise stated..
